Email Tips: Who Calmed the Waters

This "tip" was originally delivered on Saturday, March 21st, 2026 .

Remember that story in the Bible about the great storm on the sea.

The stormy wind was fearful, and the waves were high. Their souls were “melted because of trouble”.

Then, they cried unto the Lord God and he saved them by calming the storm and making the waters still?

107 is a great Psalm.

What? You thought I was talking about when Jesus calmed the waters on the sea of Galilee in Matthew 8?

I might’ve well been.

In Matthew 8:27 the disciples marveled saying, “What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!”

This miraculous calming of the waters was a display of the deity of Jesus.

You were not there to see it, but what you can see may be better. You have the prophecy of this event told a thousand years before it happened in Psalm 107:23-31.

After hearing about the story of Jesus, go back and read the passage in Psalm 107, and consider that those words were sitting in synagogues while the event was being played out with the disciples. This is prophecy.

Jesus did wonders and miracles and signs. Witnessing the miracle left men marveling, but the strong evidence of his identity is that he performed the exact miracles that the prophets said the LORD God would do.

Everything Jesus did in his earthly ministry was spoken of by God to the prophets since the world began (Acts 3:21).

All you must do is search (John 5:39)
